What Customers Use It For
#1 fill is the go-to aggregate when water has to move and the structure has to hold. Drainage, sub-base, and large fills.
French Drains
Standard clean aggregate for French drain trenches. Large enough to keep water flowing, small enough to settle in without voids.
Structural Sub-Base
Solid compactable base under shed pads, concrete slabs, garages, and equipment foundations. Sets firm and stays level.
Large Void Filling
Fill old septic tanks being abandoned, sinkholes, demolition voids, and over-dug trenches. Settles fast and stays put.
Drainage Layers
Drains fast under turf, around foundations, and beneath patios where water has to move. Won't clog like sand or fines.
Driveway Base
Use as a base course under millings, asphalt, or concrete driveways. Adds load capacity for heavy farm and construction traffic.
Soakage Trenches
Yard drainage, downspout dispersion, and stormwater management. Doesn't pack down so absorption stays high over time.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is #1 fill exactly?
#1 fill is clean crushed stone aggregate with larger particles (roughly 1/2 to 1 1/2 inch) and no fines mixed in. It drains aggressively and stays loose, which makes it the standard for French drains, structural fill, and any application where water has to keep moving.
How do I order — by the yard or by the truckload?
Both. $45 per cubic yard with a 4-yard minimum, or a full 22-ton truckload for a flat $720 (about 16 yards, our best per-yard rate). Bigger jobs go out as multiple truckloads at the same flat rate.
What's the difference between #1 fill and concrete sand?
#1 fill is coarse — 1/2 to 1 1/2 inch crushed stone with no fines. Concrete sand is fine — under 3/8 inch with sand-like particles. Use #1 fill where water needs to MOVE (drains, sub-base). Use concrete sand where you need a flat compactable surface (paver bedding, fill).
How much area does one yard cover?
Roughly 80-100 sq ft at 3-4 inches deep. A full truckload (16 yards) covers about 1,300-1,600 sq ft. For trench fill, 1 yard fills about 27 cubic feet — figure your trench dimensions to estimate.
Do you spread it or just dump it?
Standard service is dump-on-site at a spot you choose. If you need it placed into a trench or graded with a skid steer, ask about our placement add-on — we can quote it as part of the same trip.
How fast can you deliver?
Most deliveries go out within 2-5 business days. Same-week is usually possible for jobs in Wellington, Loxahatchee, Royal Palm Beach, and West Palm Beach. Call us if it's urgent.
